Defender of all things CHOCOLATE!
Two weeks ago, I decided to go over to the Apple Store at Partridge Creek, an outdoor mall not far from my house.
Although I was on a mission to get some much wanted upgrades for my computer, I also wanted to snap a few night time pics. I really like the way the mall was decorated in bright LED lighting for the holidays. I thought it was purdy.
While walking around snapping pics like an out of town tourist, I came across this old bear on guard at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory:

Looking at the picture as I prepare this post, it appears that I should have gotten a little closer and framed the shot better. But come on. With nothing between me and the bear but a thin layer of glass? I was lucky to bearly make it out alive.
Somehow, I doubt he would have shared his chocolate with me.

WebDNA

WebDNA is a fun website that reads the underlying code of a website, and turns it into a DNA inspired graphic. A website that uses more modern coding will be brighter that a website whose code is messy or not up to modern standards.
The graphic above represents this website taken just a few days ago. You can create a WebDNA for any website you want, by going here, and entering a url. Have fun!
Don’t. Call. Me.
Thanks to the National Do Not Call Registry, my phone doesn’t receive that many unsolicited calls. Of course, it is election time here in the US, which means the political calls have increased. I was woken up yesterday morning for another of those ever so important phone calls. Blah.
Although political calls are one of the few exceptions to the rule, I decided it would be a good time to double check the registry to make sure my number was still on the list. While checking, I was pleased to read that registrations are now considered permanent, and that we will not have to renew the registration every 5 years. That’s a good thing. Now, if we could only do away with all the spammers in the world…

MacWorld 08 – BOOM!
With MacWorld 2008 starting tomorrow, I thought this would be an appropriate video post of Steve Jobs favorite word:
Wonder how many times he will say it this year? And Boom!
Mission: Wish-A-Mile® 300

My friend Dale Schwartz is on a mission: To ride 300 miles in 3 days in the Wish-A-Mile 300 Bicycle Tour. Dale is an old high school friend and I applaud his effort and desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
From the WAM website:
“Affectionately known by riders and volunteers as WAM, the Wish-A-Mile 300 is a three day, 300-mile bicycle ride from Traverse City to Chelsea, Michigan to raise funds and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. In 2008, we will be celebrating our 21st year of this inspiring event, and we welcome you to join us July 24th-27th. Last year WAM raised enough funds to grant 167 wishes to Michigan children facing life-threatening medical conditions. With your help, this year we hope to grant over 200 wishes!”
Please stop by Dale’s Wish-A-Mile page and consider making a donation to this worthy cause.
Diesel Fitter
What’s a Diesel Fitter, you may ask?
Two guys are working in the quality control department at a hosiery plant. The supervisor walks by, and sees the following take place:
The first guy picks up a pair of pantyhose and holds them up.
- “How about these?” he asks.
- “Yup” the second guy replies. “Diesel Fitter”
Nothing but good quality here
